Why are so many of the states so all over the place with archery tackle and accessory regulations? Some have limits of ridiculous proportion which decreases the chance for lethality with the average archer, while others embrace the change and allow much more modern equipment.

Hunting regulations are set by each State, which is why you see them differ from place to place.  Fortunately, not many states have limiting regulations in place that would hinder your success.  If you hunt in an area with regulations you'd like to see changed, the best thing is to join a sportsman's advocacy group in that state, which will work to lobby for changes to game laws.
