Hoyt just came out with their 2 new flagship bows for 2021. The aluminum Ventum, and the carbon RX-5. With a few new innovations installed, we’re going to break down each bow individually and give you all the specs for Hoyt’s 2 new bows…
Carbon RX-5 Specs
It seems like when every bow company comes out with a new flagship bow, they offer it at 2 different axle-to-axle lengths. The new Hoyt RX-5 and Ventum are no different in this way. When looking at the RX-5, you can get either the 30″ axle-to-axle bow, or the RX-5 Ultra at 34″ axle-to-axle.

Ventum Specs
Looking at the new 2021 Ventum from Hoyt, you can see that they also offer 2 different axle-to-axle lengths for this aluminum bow. Much like the RX-5, both of these bows have a similar design and technology packed in different sizes.

New HBX™ Cam System
Now that we’ve seen all the specs for the new RX-5 and Ventum, let’s take a more in-depth look at the new technology built into these bows, starting with the all-new cam system.
These 2 bows feature a new, redesigned cam system, specifically made for unparalleled performance. HBX comes in one cam size that can cover the full range of draw lengths by using 2 different module sizes. And it can also go from 80% let-off to 85% in seconds by simply using an allen wrench to adjust a screw.
In-Line Picatinny Rail Sight Mount
One of the most noticeable changes to the Hoyt flagship bows this year, is the addition of the option to use an In-Line picatinny rail mount for your sight. These bows still have the regular holes to mount your sight on the side, but the new in-line mount offers better bow balance.
Mounting your sight in-line with the riser presents the proven reliability of a picatinny rail, and better balance by having the weight of your sight out in front, as opposed to the side.
QAD Integrate™ Rest Mounting System
As we’ve seen in the Mathews flagship bows the past 2 years, Hoyt has now partnered up with QAD to offer an in-line machined dovetail mounting system. The Integrate™ Rest Mount allows for quicker tuning, as well as a more stable rest option.
Like the In-Line picatinny mount, QAD’s rock solid Integrate™ Mounting System keeps the rest inline with the bow riser. Thus resulting in better balance, a significantly more secure attachment system, as well as an overall lighter weight.
Lower In-Line Sidebar Location
A very noticeable difference to the 2021 RX-5 and Ventum, is the addition of a lower stabilizer option. Included with the bow comes a 2.25″ short stop stabilizer (pictured above). Having a small stabilizer in this position both lowers the center of gravity and increases the effectiveness of the stabilizer.
If the lower stabilizer position isn’t your thing, they’ve also kept a hole in the typical stabilizer position. But Hoyt argues that with the attachment point farther forward, the 2 inch stabilizer has the same reach and effectiveness as a 6 inch stabilizer in the regular spot. So you get improved stabilization from a shorter, lighter weight stabilizer.
Available Finishes
The new Ventum and Carbon RX-5 are available in a multitude of colors and finishes. You can get either bow in their new Buckskin 2.0, the new Wilderness color, as well as Realtree Edge, Kuiu Verde 2.0, Gore Optifade Subalpine, and Elevated II, and Black Out.
You can also get Under Armour All-Season and Black Out special Keep Hammering Cam Hanes editions, as well as the Bone Collector edition in Black Out and Realtree Edge.

The Carbon RX-5 carries an MSRP of $1,699 and the Ventum has an MSRP of $1,199. They are both now available at your local Hoyt dealer.
