YETI Crossroads 29″ Luggage Review

YETI launched their first products in 2006 with a mission to build the cooler hunters, fishermen, and outdoorsmen would use every day. It would be a cooler built for the serious outdoor enthusiast. One that could take the abuse dished out from day after day use in the field and on the water. It would be a cooler that just wouldn’t break.

Since then, the YETI product line has evolved to a variety of products for hunting, fishing, and use around hunting camp. And they’re all built with a rugged design that won’t leave you stranded. The same holds true for their latest offering, the YETI Crossroads Luggage. Take a closer look in the review video below.

Having worked for an airline company in my early days after college, I’ve seen the abuse bags and boxes take when nobody is watching. Some handlers even make a game out of chunking luggage bags.

What I saw in those early days taught me that when traveling with gear that needed protected, I would only travel with the best luggage and cases I could afford.

The Crossroads 29” Luggage was designed to handle the beating that often takes place with aggressive baggage handlers. It’s built durable with rugged Tuffskin Nylon material in a water-resistant design.

The material is not 100% stain-proof, but can easily be cleaned up with dish soap and a damp washcloth when it does end up dirty.

The Tuffskin material delivers a rugged build that cleans up nice and easy.

The Crossroads 29″ Luggage piece is designed to be a checked bag. Despite being a slim and trim luggage piece, it’s still too large to utilize as a carry-on bag.

If you’re looking specifically for a carry-on bag, be sure to check out the Crossroads 22″ Luggage. It’s built with the same bullet proof design and construction as the 29″ bag, but in a smaller package that you can keep with you throughout your travel.

The hard shell bottom of the luggage is built to handle the abuse of road trips and air travel.

Better Organization

It features a 70/30 split clamshell opening with a mesh divider panel to keep all of your items secure and in place during travel, whether it’s bouncing around on a plane, or the back of your truck.

The bag also includes a  small and medium Packing Cube designed for extra organization. Interior mesh pockets allow you to easily see and grab contents within the bag without having to blindly dig through your garments and gear inside.

A front pocket on the outside allows you to quickly grab the items you need the most when you’re on the go, without having to dig into the main compartment.

Strategically placed pockets offer better organization throughout.

Better Construction

The bag is also built with better construction throughout. Two key areas in particular are the wheels and the handle.

You can say goodbye to blowouts and breakdowns with the wheels on your luggage when you’re rolling through the airport with the Crossroads luggage. These tires are solid, smooth, and beefed up to handle a beating.

A tougher wheel design keeps you free from breakdowns while rolling through the airport.

You’ll also notice a tougher design built into the handle. I’ve had my fair share of broken handles that hang up, lock down, and will no longer slide in or out.

This  luggage piece offers a smoother operating handle that glides in and out as needed. It’s a solid build that doesn’t rattle around or feel flimsy in the hand.

A better built handle comes standard.
