Bowhunters from across the country gathered this past weekend in Cave City, Kentucky for an exciting new event for Bowtech shooters called, The  Rally.

The event was packed with ample opportunities to shoot, visit vendors, learn more on the Bowtech lineup of bows, and hang out with like-minded bowhunters from across the country. But the event was also the launch point for Bowtech’s all new Honor compound bow.

The Honor is a limited edition compound bow designed to celebrate the brand’s 25-year anniversary, but also honor service members through the Folds of Honor organization.

In case you missed it in the specs above, the Honor wears a price tag of $4000. And that was enough to create quite a buzz among attendees at the Rally event. That’s well over double the price of most compound bows these days.

However, upon closer inspection, you’ll find that the price of the bow includes all the accessories to complete the rig, as well as a Pelican bow case and some other slick commemorative add-ons. Still, the $4,000 price tag puts it at the top when it comes to the most spendy bows of all time.

Aside from the price of the Honor, the big talking point was the bow’s brand new magnesium-alloy riser material that Bowtech is calling AeroMag.

AeroMag technology weighs in lighter than aluminum yet boasts unparalleled strength and stiffness.

Jeff Suiter, senior director of product management, says the team at Bowtech discovered a supplier that creates a proprietary alloy that includes magnesium, aluminum, and rare earth elements. This specific magnesium alloy has been used in the aerospace industry and has only recently become available at the consumer level.

Bowtech says the strength-to-weight ratio is far superior to any riser material Bowtech has ever used before.

Could this be the future of riser materials coming in the days ahead?

The Honor features all the popular technology Bowtech shooters have come to love, including: DeadLock Technology, Time Lock, and GripLock.

You’ll also find a really slick Cerakote finish for rugged durability, hardness and scratch resistance.
