Finding a tracker to help you recover your deer after the shot has never been easier than with the all-new TRAKR app. It’s the app designed to help connect hunters with a blood tracking hound in hopes of recovering a deer after the shot takes place.Â
Let’s face it, finding a tracker to help you recover a deer can often be a difficult task. It’s a time sensitive issue that must be addressed right away. Rarely is there time to wait. You need a dog, and you need it right now!Â
That’s the beauty of the new TRAKR app. It was built to help expedite the process and get you connected with a tracker faster and easier than ever. Below, you’ll find a closer look at what the app is all about.Â
What is TRAKR?
TRAKR is the official app partner of the United Blood Trackers.  The United Blood Trackers is dedicated to promoting resource conservation through the use of trained tracking dogs in the ethical recovery of big game. The TRAKR team is excited to work with the UBT to help connect hunters with the best trained tracking dogs in the country.
How TRAKR Works
Download TRAKR APP – The first step is to load the free TRAKR app. It’s easy to download and really simple to use.Â
Submit Your Track – The TRAKR request form is easy. It takes about 90 seconds to complete, and is free to use. That’s all it takes to get a TRAKR.
Get Started – With your information loaded, it’s time to get started. TRAKR is home to the nation’s largest network of vetted trackers for deer recovery. One of the TRAKRs in the network for your area will connect with you. It’s pretty much like UBER for hunters.Â
Got a tracking dog and want to become an official TRAKR? That process requires a little more information, but is really simple as well. You simply go in and create an account as a tracker and build a profile. You’ll include how long you’ve been tracking, any certifications you might have, what area you’re willing to cover, what animals you’re willing to track, and what fees you might require. The TRAKR team is commited to ensuring they have quality TRAKRs within their network to deliver the best overall experience for both hunters and TRAKRs.Â
Top TRAKR Features
Instant Notifications – No more waiting for call-backs or wondering if a tracker ever received your message. As soon as you submit your tracking request, a push notification instantly alerts every TRAKR in the area of your need for tracking services.
Streamline Your Info – TRAKR’s detailed tracking request process gathers all the important information to help TRAKRs make the best decisions on when to track.
High Quality Media Transfers – Have video of the shot or photos of the blood trail? Submit full resolution, uncompressed videos and photos, giving your TRAKR a clear picture of your situation, blood on the ground, arrow, etc.Â
Real Time Mapping – TRAKRs can see all active tracking requests in their region via the app’s location aware mapping software.
Q & A With Shane Simpson of TRAKR
Tracker and hunter, Shane Simpson, is one of the guys responsible for bringing TRAKR to life. We reached out to him for some answers on the back story of the TRAKR concept. Below, you’ll find some of the questions and answers with Simpson.Â
Q) Who is responsible for starting TRAKR?Â
A) Shane Simpson, Ryan Carpenter, Garrett Prahl, and Greg Godfrey are the co-founders of TRAKR.Â
“The idea came to me about 3 years ago after several years of tracking experience,” says Simpson. “The volume of calls gets pretty heavy at times and text messages, calls, and Facebook messages didn’t really help to streamline the process. I thought that a mobile app might make things work a lot more efficiently. So I discussed the idea with a few friends that really liked the idea, and here we are today.”
Q) What’s the mission and purpose of TRAKR?
A) “Our mission is to help connect trackers and hunters together in the most efficient way possible, which should result in more recoveries,” says Simpson. “Trackers may waste hours of their time each day sitting on the side of the road or in a parking lot, while navigating through a pile of missed calls and text messages, jotting down notes and interviewing hunters about possible tracking jobs. The TRAKR app does all the work for the hunter and the trackers, streamlining the entire process, which allows trackers to spend that time driving to the next track and covering more tracks each day.”
Q) How does the TRAKR app work?
A) “A hunter can submit a tracking request for free, which is basically some of the same questions a tracker will ask of you over the phone,” says Simpson. “Trackers in the area will receive a push notification of your request, at which time they can offer their tracking services to you. A hunter may receive offers from multiple trackers and will have the option to review each tracker’s profile (includes ratings and reviews, experience level, any tracking certifications that they may have and any fees they might charge) before choosing the tracker they wish to hire.”
Q) What States Does the TRAKR App Cover?
A) The TRAKR app is available nationwide on Google Play and the App Store.
The TRAKR app is a new offering, but it’s already gaining traction across the country. In fact, the network already has 753 verified TRAKRS available to help hunters find their game after the shot.Â
