How long after a miss over a does back can I expect her to be back on any kind of pattern in the same area, if ever? It was a 20-yard shot and the feathers on my arrow bounced off her back.

It's hard to be certain. I've shot at deer and missed them and they go back to feeding without a care in the world minutes later. Provided she wasn't too spooked she'll probably be back before too long.
